The export rate of Iranian puffed barberry has increased by about 80 percent compared to the previous month with the entry of this product into the market. The price of this product has dropped in the domestic and global markets with the entry of new puffed barberry to the market.
The export rate of Iranian barberry was 63,705 kilograms last month (March 2022). The most important customers of Iranian barberry for export were Germany, Iraq, Qatar, the UAE, and Sweden last month. 18,357 kilograms of Iranian barberry were exported to Germany in March 2022. Also, 11,458 kg of barberry were exported to Iraq, 8,226 kg were shipped to Qatar, 7,189 kg were exported to the UAE, and 6,559 kg were shipped to Sweden.
The export rate of Iranian barberry has increased in March 2022 compared to the previous month. In February, 35,592 kg of barberry were exported from Iran. The export rate increased by 80 percent in March compared to February. The most significant reason for the increase in exports in March is the entry of puffed barberry to the market in late February and the increasing demand for the purchase of this product last month. Due to more durability, the demand for Iranian puffed barberry is more than for sun-dried barberry in global markets.
The export dropped slightly in March 2022 compared to last year’s same period. 66,787 kg of barberry were exported from Iran in March 2021. The rate of barberry export has decreased by about 4.6 percent in March 2022 compared to the same period last year.
The price of Iranian barberry has had a reduction in global markets during the past month. The demand for buying sun-dried barberry has been reduced by entering the puffed barberry to the market. This issue resulted in a decrease of this product by about 7 percent compared to last month. Also, the price of puffed barberry has fallen by about 5.8 percent compared to last month due to the entry of puffed barberry and the increase in the supply of this product.
