Buckwheat kernel: The impact of weather changes on buckwheat

Inner Mongolia: Chifeng and Tongliao in Inner Mongolia have abundant rains, and the new buckwheat is growing well, and there is a high yield expectation. Due to the dry weather in western Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, and Shaanxi, the production of new buckwheat is expected to decrease, and some plots have no harvest.

The grass-roots ageing grains in the producing areas are insufficient, and farmers are generally reluctant to sell them, supporting the high prices of domestic buckwheat. However, the downstream demand is weak, and the actual transaction volume in the market is small. Wuchuan and Baotou’s new buckwheat are harvested around the end of the month, focusing on the new grains’ growth, yield, and quality.
