Chinese Small lentil: Market downturn, prices are at a stalemate

TIANJIN: After the new lentils went on the market in 2021, the market has been downturned. The main output is low, farmers are reluctant to sell them, and prices have been increased. However, this year traders did not buy quickly because of the bass output. Instead, they began to purchase low-priced imported lentils.

At present, China does not import Canadian lentils, and domestic prices have not been affected. Domestic traders currently mainly purchase cheap imported lentils as raw materials. Domestic prices are in a stalemate, and it is expected that prices will not fall sharply in the short term.

Foreign buyers reported that import costs were too high, and they waited for price cuts to start purchasing, especially Italian importers expect prices to fall soon. If China starts to import Canadian lentils next, it will inevitably have a significant impact on the cost of Chinese lentils, which will cause prices to fall.
