From March 21st, 2021, to September 22nd, 2021, the export of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi has increased compared to the same period last year. It has risen by about 82.5 per cent in terms of weight and 95 per cent in terms of export value.
According to the Iranian customs statistics, 858 tons of Different types of Gheysi and dried apricots worth 1,731,000 USD were exported from Iran in the mentioned six months. The amount of exports in this year has grown significantly compared to the same period last year. More than 470 tons of Gheysi and dried apricots worth 887,000 USD were exported from Iran from March 21st,2020, to September 22nd,2020. The export of these crops has increased by about 82.5 per cent in terms of weight and 95 per cent in terms of export value in the mentioned time this year.
The average price of each kilogram of Iranian export dried apricot and Gheysi has increased by about 5.3 per cent during this period compared to the same time last year. It has risen from 1.9 USD per kilogram to 2 USD per kilogram. The most important reason for the increase in the amount and average price of each kilogram of these crops for export is the better quality of the available product in the mentioned months of 2021 compared to the same period last year. This year, the amount of product available was more than last year, which affects increasing the export of this crop in this period. After the new US administration took office last fall, hopes for sanctions reduction and ease of trade with Iran have facilitated and increased exports of dried apricot and Gheysi this year compared to the same period last year.
