Market players stated that the raw material prices are still increasing. As informed before, small farmers had already sold their products, but bigger farmers still prefer to wait as they expect that the prices will continue to increase up to 40 TL per kg shortly. The current price levels are between 31 and 36 TL/per kg. Exporters continue to buy products, but they are also astonished as they cannot understand the continuation of the price increase. Traders buy whatever they find nowadays, being the main reason for price increases.
For this reason, export prices increased again compared to last week. Exporters state that also the demands are enormous for few weeks. However, it is a big question mark for the market whether the requests will continue at this rate after these price increases. It seems, however, that unstable raw material prices will continue for a while in Turkey.
The good start of the export season continues with the dried apricots.
Turkey exported 10.473 mt from the new crop so far, only 8.209 mt during the same period last year.
Turkey exported 2136 mt apricots and apricot products last week, which was 2147 mt during the same week of the previous year.
