MALATYA: Market players stated that farmers and exporters wait for the official announcement of the new crop size
Market players stated that some expect this announcement nowadays while others believe that this will last at least one month. The export prices remained the same this week after the massive price increases of last week. There is no raw material available anymore, so some say these price increases are artificial and that the prices for the new Season will settle after the crop size announcement by the State. But there are still at least two months to go until the new Season, and unusual weather conditions may impact the amount of harvest, thus on the export prices.
Turkey exported 1446 mt apricots and apricot products last week, which was 1430 mt during the same week of last year. The Usd/TL rate is at 8.46 TL (8.61 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 10.26 TL levels (10.51 TL last week). The total of exports ranged at 81.170 mt of the new crop which was 89.709 mt in the same period of the Last Season
