Grain Markets Amid Fears of War

by | Nov 16, 2022 | Buckwheat, Corn/Maize, Grain, Wheat

European Markets
Grain markets in Paris closed yesterday before “WW3” became one of the top searches on search engines which is probably a good thing.
In any case, in Chicago they close with a not bad increase in prices, which cannot be caught up today by the markets in Europe.
Wheat, corn and canola on MATIF fell “capitulationally” yesterday, which is ultimately good for the bulls, as it will only “weed out” the strong among them.

American Markets
U.S. wheat markets rose even before the news of the explosions in Poland. After it, they understandably also “explode”, but in the end they close within the framework of “normal”.
In no small part, wheat’s initial firmness came from the corn and soybean markets, which received news of strong daily sales.

Black Sea Markets
The strange thing about the missile incident in Poland is that, at least according to the people we follow, both the Ukrainians and the Russians seem to have no problem if tensions escalate.
Otherwise, nothing new in terms of news for the grain markets themselves.
