BUDAPEST – The Hungarian grain and oilseeds farmers are tensely waiting for the rain, which would be vital for corn and sunflower seeds.
The wheat seems to have suffered a significant loss, and even a possible rain already could not help rescuing it. Corn leaves started to shrink; hence, the plants need rainfall in other ways or inevitably be damaged.
For a while, the situation did not affect the prices because the plants had a good chance of recovering if the rain had started. Wheat prices are modestly decreasing as usually right after or close to the harvest.
