Price movements in Hungarian oil seeds and grain market

BUDAPEST – Very interesting price movements can be detected on the Hungarian oil seeds and grain market.
Rape seed price has suddenly jumped up to 571 EUR/mt FCA Hungary while new crop feed corn price has fallen to 148 EUR/mt FCA Hungary. Sunflower seed is stagnating around 420-460 EUR/mt depending on contractors.

The weather situation is very mixed. A serious drought hit corn and sunflower seed areas in Hungary, and there is a question of whether the weekend fallen rains could still help them. Other agricultural fields have got enough precipitations in the past weeks, and the plants promise big crops.

The traders are agreeing on that depending on level of damages, the prices of individual products will behave accordingly which is expected in the coming months.
