Sunflower kernel: When will the export situation turn for the better

Dalian: According to feedback from exporters, the purchase and sales of imported sunflower seeds in the Yili region of Xinjiang have stagnated, the ports are temporarily out of stock, and traders’ inventories have been cleared. The reference price of Kwai Ren shipment is about 1350 US dollars per ton, and the actual transaction depends on the bargaining price. The export situation of candy-grade sunflower seed kernels is better than that of bread-grade sunflower kernels.

The exporters in Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, and Heilongjiang are mainly selling goods. The export volume in Shandong has decreased by 32.5% year on year. The price of confectionary-grade sunflower kernels is US$1420-1450/ton FOB Dalian. The export price of Chinese bakery-grade sunflower kernels is 1400-1430 US dollars/ton.

The main importing countries are the United States, Germany, the Middle East, and the Netherlands. According to the shipping company’s feedback, there is no downward trend in ocean freight rates for September. Exporters and importers continue to pay attention to changes in the shipping market.
