ODESA: Last year, as of August, every third sample exceeded the chlorpyrifos limits of 0.01 mg/kg. This limit was fixed by EU Commission Regulation 2020/1085 of 23 July 2020. And by the end of the season, the new EU limits were exceeded in rapeseed by about 15-20 % and oil about 20-25%. As of today, according to data from survey companies, the results do not exceed 0.01 mg/kg.
Actually, the active work of the grain market-leading players with their suppliers and farmers delivered the results. Market participants carried out an information campaign, shared recommendations and were informed about the latest changes.
Ukrainian State Food Service and the Ministry of Health took the situation under their control. It led to the fact that in Ukraine and Europe, there will be uniform maximum permissible levels for chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl – 0.01 mg/kg (ppm). The new regulation will come into effect on January 1, 2022.
